The main attraction of the carnival is the parades of costumes and comparsas enlivened by bands that play happy music, which take place in the main streets of the city. Expert dancers perform beautiful choreography accompanying colorful floats. The carnival offers cultural and artistic activities, concerts of different musical genres, plays, art festivals. You can also enjoy spaces that offer typical foods, sales of crafts from the region, all framed in an atmosphere of celebration and joy.
Dates of the Barranquilla Carnival 2023 The Barranquilla Carnival will take place in 2023 in the month of February, starting on Saturday February 18 to 21, 2023. On each day of carnival special events and parades are held, however in the previous weeks a wide carnival program is also carried out every day. The city vibrates with its festival from the Reading of the Bando, a symbolic act that marks the start of the carnival season. Barranquilla adorns its houses, shopping centers, avenues and emblematic places with allegorical figures of the carnival in an exhibition of colors and creativity.

Encounter of comedies Safeguard and children in the Carnival: the children will safeguard the tradition and patrimonial expressions of the Carnival.
Carnival Tuesday: February 21, 2023 Joselito leaves with the ashes Carnaval de la 84 – Joselito's burial: it is the celebration that closes the festivities in a parade where widows cry and bury Joselito, many comparsas appear. Different parades are held but one of the most recommended is the one on 84th Street. Organized by the Art and Folklore Foundation of the Atlantic.
